How to apply for courses from another university

  1. Fill in the formDownload the credit transfer form (.doc)
  2. Prepare documentsCourse syllabus, transcript or certificate of completion, and course materials if you have them.
  3. Upload onlineUse the form below. The department chair reviews and makes the final decision.
Credit transfer principles
  • Only business- and management-related courses are considered, such as finance, marketing and economics.
  • The partner course should be a 3rd–4th year or graduate-level course. Introductory courses cannot be credited.
  • Required and basic courses generally cannot be credited, except in special cases.
  • General Education (GE) courses are not reviewed by the program. Apply separately to the General Education Center.
  • Limits: up to 2 core electives and 3 advanced electives, no more than 5 courses in total.
  • Please provide the syllabus and course materials to show the course is relevant.
  • There is no minimum grade for returning exchange students: you only need to pass the course. Credited courses show as "TR" on your NTHU transcript, without a grade.

These are general principles, not guarantees. Under university regulations, the department chair makes the final decision.

Do I need to apply for an NTHU course?
  • No application is needed for English-taught courses offered by CTM departments (Econ, QF, TM, LST, ISS, IMBA, IPMT, CTM).
  • You must apply if the course is from another department, or is taught in Chinese.
  • This does not include compulsory courses such as College Chinese/Mandarin, English, General Education or PE.
